The day dawns with a delicious breakfast at the riad in the Dades Valley, and soon we are on our way to one of the natural wonders of Morocco: the Todra Gorges. Here, we will leave our vehicle to immerse ourselves in the amazing landscape, walking between towering rock walls that embrace a meandering river.

Continuing our adventure, we head towards the desert of Merzouga, where the tranquility of the oasis awaits us before embarking on the most exciting ride: a camel ride over the dunes of Erg Chebbi. This magical journey takes us to the heart of the Sahara, offering an unforgettable sunset and a starry night that illuminates the desert with a special light.

With the starry sky as a backdrop, we retire to our tented camp, where we enjoy a traditional dinner and embrace the warm embrace of Berber hospitality, promising a night of peace and dreams among the dunes.

The third day greets us with breakfast in the middle of the dunes of Erg Chebbi, followed by a refreshing shower that prepares us to continue our immersion in the desert. We head towards Khamlia, where music connects us with stories of ancient roads and trans-Saharan trade. Here, the ‘gnawa’ rhythms resonate as an echo of a legacy recognized by UNESCO, enriching our journey with its intangible heritage.

The day progresses and the adventure intensifies as we take the route of the mythical Paris-Dakar rally in 4×4, reliving the thrill and challenge of crossing these lands. We will discover the mines of Khol and the vestiges of Berber and French heritage, stopping to absorb the panoramic views that stretch beyond our sight.

An encounter with the nomads of the desert gives us the unique opportunity to share tea and learn about their traditions, a bridge between the nomadic past and today’s sedentary life.

We return to Merzouga to finish the day, where a hotel in the desert will welcome us with a dinner that promises to be as comforting as the day has been fascinating.

The sun rises on the horizon, bathing the dunes of Erg Chebbi with a golden light that announces the beginning of our fourth day. After enjoying the sunrise in Merzouga and refreshing ourselves at the hotel, we resume the route to new destinations.

We leave behind the serenity of the desert to enter the vibrant history of Rissani, where we will explore the largest medina in southern Morocco. We continue our journey through Alnif, Tazarine and N’Kob, villages that exude the essence of Berber life and are living testimony of an ancient culture.

Our road leads us to a fruitful detour: the Draa Valley. There, the largest palm grove in North Africa awaits us, an oasis of greenery in the midst of arid landscapes. This orchard is a symbol of life and fertility that contrasts with the immensity of the desert.

The day concludes in Ouarzazate, the ‘Gateway to the Desert’, which welcomes us with the promise of a comfortable rest. In this city of cinema and contrasts, we will enjoy dinner and spend the night, preparing for the return to urban life.

En el quinto día, llega el momento de cambiar de aires: abandonamos el vasto territorio al sur del Atlas para poner rumbo a Marrakech, la ‘capital turística’ de Marruecos. Pero lo haremos disfrutando del camino, pues quedan importantes lugares por descubrir.

Dejando atrás el sugerente Valle de las Rosas (sobre todo, en primavera), volveremos a Ouarzazate, en esta ocasión para detenernos frente a un monumento que no dio tiempo a ver en el segundo y tercer día: la kasbah de Taourirt. Sorprende por su grandeza, su bien conservada arquitectura y su humilde elegancia, a base de adobe en el exterior y cerámicas, yesos y maderas en el interior. No obstante, fue la residencia de uno de los hombres más poderosos de su tiempo: Thami El Glaoui, a comienzos del siglo XX.

A partir de aquí, la carretera se pone cuesta arriba: estaremos ascendiendo por las montañas del Alto Atlas hasta coronar puerto en Tizi n’Tichka. Poner pie a tierra y mirar alrededor será casi obligado, pues desde aquí se divisan las cumbres más altas del país, nevadas buena parte del año.

En el descenso, entre pueblos bereberes, granjas ganaderas y humildes cursos de agua que aportan frescor y verdor, llegaremos hasta la llanura en la que se encuentra Marrakech. Explorar esta ciudad es uno de los atractivos de este paquete, pero eso lo dejaremos para el día siguiente. En esta jornada, os llevaremos al riad para el check-in y después tendréis tiempo libre.

En el sexto día, llega uno de los momentos más esperados de este circuito desde Agadir al desierto: la visita guiada por Marrakech. Será durante la mañana y de la mano de un guía oficial, que os hará descubrir los rincones más interesantes del centro histórico.

En función de la disponibilidad de cada monumento, ese recorrido a pie os llevará seguramente por la plaza de Jemaa el-Fna, la mezquita Koutoubia (exteriores), las Tumbas Saadíes, el Palacio Bahia o la medersa de Ben Youssef, lo que da cuenta de la riqueza histórico-artística de esta ciudad. No en vano, fue capital del reino en varias ocasiones y está declarada Patrimonio Mundial por la Unesco.

Y lo que no dé tiempo por la mañana, lo podréis visitar por la tarde, pues este momento del día será de libre disposición. Por ello, podéis anotar otras propuestas muy variadas, como el Jardín Majorelle, el Museo de Yves Saint-Laurent, el Palacio el Badi o el Museo de Marrakech… entre otras muchas opciones. Las compras son también una propuesta ineludible y encontraréis mucha variedad en los zocos de la medina, así como en los barrios de moda, como el Gueliz.

Tras una jornada intensa, en la que a buen seguro caminaréis una larga distancia, regresaréis a descansar por la noche al mismo riad, ubicado en pleno centro histórico para facilitar el programa.

El séptimo día es el último de este circuito, y estará condicionado por el horario del vuelo. Si lo tenéis por la tarde, podréis aprovechar la mañana para realizar las últimas compras o paseos. Lo que es seguro es que pasaremos a recogeros por el riad para llevaros en transfer privado al Aeropuerto de Menara, desde donde despegará vuestro avión. En la terminal será la despedida, agradecidos por la confianza depositada y esperanzados con un futuro reencuentro.
