After breakfast at the desert hotel, we leave for Khamlia, known as the village of “the blacks”, where its inhabitants, descendants of former slaves brought from Sudan, will welcome us with their gnawa music. We will experience the vitality of this music in an intimate concert that reflects its rich cultural heritage.
Later, we embarked on a journey through history and geography, following the trail of the “Paris-Dakar Rally”. We will explore the mines of Khol and the ruins of French and Berber settlements, with a stop to admire the vast Erg Chebbi.
On our route, we will have a memorable encounter with desert nomads, sharing tea and conversations that will bring us closer to their way of life in transition.
The afternoon brings a change of scenery and pace, as we will ride camels that will take us through the desert landscape to our tented camp. Here, we will be welcomed with traditional Berber hospitality, enjoying a welcome tea followed by dinner.
The day ends under the starry blanket of the desert of Merzouga, a natural spectacle that will accompany us in a night of rest and peace in the comfortable tents.
